For years, firms have measured customer communications in fairly simple terms. Was it produced correctly? Was it approved? Was it sent and delivered? Did anybody complain?
These measures still matter. But they don’t tell you whether the communication actually worked. A successful outcome depends on whether the customer noticed it, understood why it mattered and knew what they needed to do next.
