Leading customer communication solutions provider Mail Metrics has appointed Tom O’Connor, one of Ireland’s most respected technology and digital transformation leaders, as its new Chairman of the Board.

O’Connor brings over two decades of senior leadership experience, most notably from his long career at IT services firm Version 1, where he held various roles from 2001 culminating in his appointment to Chief Executive Officer in 2017. O’Connor led the company through a remarkable period of growth as CEO - tripling revenue and profits, expanding internationally across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and India, and completing ten strategic acquisitions.

His achievements were recognised when he was named Person of the Year at the 2022 Tech Excellence Awards. He stepped down as CEO in late 2024 and continues to serve on the Version 1 Board of Directors.

Mail Metrics extends its deep appreciation to Martin Cullen, who served as Chairman for the previous three years.

Nick Keegan, CEO Mail Metrics, comments: “Tom O’Connor’s leadership experience and track record of delivering transformation at scale make him an exceptional asset to Mail Metrics. We are delighted to welcome him as Chairman at a time when the business is making huge strides forward in assisting our clients transition to digital communications. We also express our sincere gratitude to Martin Cullen for his outstanding contribution over the last three years. Martin was a great support to the Board during our initial phase of growth and we wish him continued success in his leadership role in Microsoft”

Tom O’Connor comments: “I’m honoured to join Mail Metrics as Chairman. The company’s ambition and drive together with its focus on innovation in customer communication management aligns strongly with my own passion for helping Irish firms achieve international scale through technology-driven transformation. I look forward to working closely with the leadership team and MML Capital Ireland to support the next stage of growth.”

From Regulatory Obligation to Strategic Advantage

What leaders in regulated sectors told us at Communicate ’25

Digital Transformation’s Identity Crisis

Digital transformation has become one of the most frequently used phrases in modern business – and one of the least understood. Ask ten decision-makers what it means for customer communications management (CCM) and you are likely to receive ten different answers.

Building The Digital-First, Regulation-Ready Enterprise in 2026

As regulated organisations move into 2026, one reality is becoming unavoidable: the gap between digital ambition and operational capability is widening.

Postal optimisation in a digital world

While print and mail is a highly effective customer communications channel, it’s how strategically you employ it that matters. Postal optimisation is about delivering the best service to your customers at the lowest cost, delivering operational efficiencies and improving customer experience.
